Relative of deceased ACP, who died of Covid-19, levels serious allegations against Ludhiana civic body

LUDHIANA: A relative of the deceased ACP Anil Kohli, who died in the line of duty because of Covid-19, has leveled a serious allegation against Municipal Corporation Ludhiana and government for 'banning' his family. On Saturday afternoon, assistant commissioner of police Anil Kohli (52), who had contracted Covid-19, had died of multiple organ failure at a private hospital in Ludhiana. Kohli was directly involved in contact tracing and area containment in Ludhiana and also helped ensure social distancing was implemented at Ludhiana sabzi mandi after imposition of lockdown across the country.
On Monday, Rajan Puri, relative of the deceased ACP, took to Facebook to voice his anger.
Puri wrote, “Thank you Ludhiana MCL Team and government. MCL Baned my family. No one collect my house Hold Waste (Kooda Kachra (in Hindi). Even MCL guy refuse to collect and misbehave with us. Because, we are family of ACP Anil Kohli. I really proud he is my mamu ji. Jai Hind” (sic).
MCL officials couldn’t be contacted for their reaction on the post by Rajan Puri.
