In times of crisis, Indian Railways feeds India's poor

In this crisis, The Indian Railways has served over 20 lakh meals to the needy for free.

Since March 28, the Railways has been providing cooked food for lunch and food packets for dinner through IRCTC base kitchens, RPF resources and NGOs.

The Railways has fed stranded persons, daily wage labourers, migrants, children, coolies, homeless, the poor and many who form the floating population.

In a statement, the Railways assured the public that social distancing was being maintained all the while they were serving food to the needy.
