Bharuch reports death of a woman due to coronavirus

SURAT: The industrial town of Bharuch reported its first death after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. A 55-year-old woman from the walled city in Bharuch succumbed to the deadly virus on Sunday.
The deceased, 55, a resident of Bharuch, was suffering from co-morbid condition when she was brought at the Covid-19 hospital in Ankleshwar.
Health officials said that the deceased was not among the Covid-19 positive patients undergoing treatment at the Jayaben Modi hospital in Ankleshwar. The woman was suffering from co-morbid condition including diabetes and other ailments and that she was taken to the private hospital for treatment.
It was after the doctors at the private hospital felt that they should go for the Covid-19 test of the patient, the woman was shifted to the Covid-19 hospital on Friday. Meanwhile, the woman’s health deteriorate on Sunday morning and she passed away. Her samples tested positive of Covid-19 on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, two patients were discharged from COVID 19 Jayaben Modi hospital in Ankleshwar on Saturday evening as their report came negative. Discharged patients were from Ikhar Village of Bharuch and Devla of Jambusar in the district.
Moreover, the Bharuch Civil Hopsital has been sealed after seven staff members including nurses and doctors were tested positive of the virus in the last three days.
J D Parmar, Civil Surgeon Civil Hospital told media persons “Civil hospital was Covid-19 designated hospital, but it has been sealed after seven staff members tested positive. Out of 131 samples of the staff members, 45 have tested negative and the result of other samples are awaited. Another 16-0 samples will be taken on Monday”
