UP Congress lodges complaint after threat to Priyanka Gandhi on Twitter

LUCKNOW: The UP Congress workers lodged an FIR against a woman based in Basti district for allegedly threatening Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on social media.
SHO Basti Rampal Yadav said, “Congress leader Pankaj Kumar Dwivedi lodged an FIR under section IPC 506 and section 66 of the IT Act against the person holding Twitter handle by the name of Arti Pandey for threatening to kill party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi.”
UP Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu said, “The woman had reacted to a tweet posted by our leader in which she asked UP CM Yogi to form a task force for revival of economic situation in the state.”
Lallu also informed that inspector Devnandan Upadhyaye has been appointed to investigate the complaint.
On Saturday, Priyanka Gandhi had written a letter to UP government to take adequate steps for revival of state’s economic scenario.
She had drawn the CM’s attention towards the plight of farmers and workers who had rendered jobless because of the lockdown imposed on account of the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
