Mumbai's G-South ward keeps its lead, even with zero new infections

MUMBAI: The G-South ward tops the list of wards with Covid-19 positive cases in the city. At last count, the number of positive coronavirus cases stood at 390 and the number of deaths at 17.
Data provided by the BMC showed no new cases reported from the ward on Friday.
The ward is a major concern for the government considering that 3,554 persons from here are in institutional quarabtine.
Of these, 843 persons are high-risk contacts and 2,711 are low-risk contacts.
The areas that come under G-South ward are Worli, Prabhadevi and Lower Parel.
Around 86 % of the total cases in the ward have been reported from semi-slum and slum areas like Worli-Koliwada and Jijamata Nagar.
Officials of the BMC said that the situation was under control in key hot spots in the ward.
