Haryana: Nurse, son of Covid-19 victim test negative

KARNAL: A 36-year-old staff nurse of Kalpana Chawla Medical College and Hospital (KCGMC) and the son of a Covid-19 vicitm, were discharged on Saturday from KCGMC after their two consecutive tests came to be negative. The nurse’s family members and area residents welcomed her upon her arrival at her Ashoka Colony home by showering petals on her.
Meenu had been working at KCGMC for several years as staff nurse and was posted in the isolation ward. She had tested positive on April 11 after she reportedly came in contact with a doctor, who had tested corona positive earlier. She had to spend eight days at the isolation ward of KCGMC.
She said, “My family members, doctors and sanitation workers in the isolation ward supported me that helped me recover fast. I spent the eight-day period in the isolation ward. During this, I read books. I decided to fight the virus and finally won.”
She said there was no to need to panic if anyone tested positive for coronavirus, but need to strengthen his/ her willpower. She advised people to stay home and follow the lockdown norms.
Similarly, the 26-year-old son of second Covid-19 victim in Haryana, was admitted on April 3 and had tested positive on April 6. He had come in contact with his father Gyan Singh, who had died on April 5. The man spent around 16 days at the isolation ward of KGCMC.
