COVID-19 tally in Andhra reaches 572 with 38 new cases reported in the last 24 hours

13 cases were reported from Kurnool district alone, taking the number of cases in the district to 126 and once again becoming the district with the highest number of confirmed cases.

VIJAYAWADA: COVID-19 tally in Andhra Pradesh reached 572 by 10 am on Friday with another 38 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. No virus death was reported in the State during the period and the number of recovered and discharged from hospital has been increased to 35. According to the medical bulletin issued by the government on Friday morning, the fresh positive cases were detected from the samples tested between 10 am on Thursday and 10 am on Friday. 

Out of the 38 cases, 13 were reported from Kurnool, taking the number of cases in the district to 126. 
Guntur district registered four cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the district to 126. Now, it shares the first position with Kurnool district. Six cases were reported in Nellore, taking the total number of cases in the district to 64 while five cases each were reported in Anantapur and Chittoor district, taking the total number cases in those districts to 26 and 28 respectively. Four new cases were reported in Krishna district, taking the number of cases in the district to 52. With one new case in Kadapa district, the total cases increased to 37. 

Meanwhile, taking stock of the situation in the State during a high-level review meeting, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that with the arrival of rapid test kits, the testing capacity has enhanced to 10,000 a day, hence all those identified with symptoms during the survey held in the State for the third time should be tested. He also enquired about the Patient Care Management being implemented for the patients undergoing treatment in the hospitals. Officials explained that PCM was in tune with the directions of the Chief Minister. 

They said those above 40 years and suffering from any comorbidities are being given special attention and in case any of the coronavirus symptoms are found, they are being shifted to the State-level COVID-19 hospitals.A team of eight doctors specialised in critical care is being stationed at the Command Control Rooms, which will keep track of the health of patients. 

Meanwhile, three more persons, who recovered from covid19, were released from GITAM hospital on Friday. With this, the total number of persons recovered from Covid19 has risen to 13 in Vizag. There are seven more persons in GITAM hospital. Three nurses, who attended Covid-19 patients at VIMS and underwent swab test on Thursday, tested negative for the virus on Friday.
