PRAYAGRAJ: After holding shakhas in open spaces for long, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) volunteers of Kashi Prant are downloading ‘Shakha app’ on their smart phones to connect with each other and take up organizational activities online as well as offline.
The app, developed by Rajasthan RSS volunteers, has nine components: Shakha, Yog, Shakha Paddhati, Geet, Subhashit, Amrit Vachan, Khel, Prathana and Vikir (whistle). Finding the app innovative and useful, Kashi prant leaders of RSS are encouraging volunteers to download and use it for organizational activities.
The app talks about the details and types of Shakhas that are being organsied and categorized, including
Prabhat Shakha, Sandhya Shakha, Ratri Shakha, Milan and Sangh Mandali.
In Yog component, volunteers could know about the eight parts of yoga: Yam, Niyam, Aasan, Pranayam, Pratyahar, Dharna, Dhyan and Samadhi.
In Shakha Paddhati, there are details of organizing shakhas and also the right method of holding it.
In Geet component, volunteers can learn about masik (month) song, sewa geet, kavya geet, etc.
Similarly, Subhashit, Amrit Vachan, Khel, Vikir and Prathana provides the details of activities that are required to hold a shakha. The app also narrates and provides other important information on activities like Ekatmata strota, Bodh Katha, big stories, baudhik (mental exercise), bhajankirtan, Ayurvedic treatment, books, news, details of meeting and also how to connect or join with Sangh online.

mantra, Bhojan mantra, Kalyan mantra, Sangthan mantra, and Surya namaskar mantra.
RSS Kashi prant pracharak Ramesh Ji said, “Around 1.5 lakh active workers of the organization in Kashi prant are taking up organisational activities online as well as offline.”
He also claimed that these active workers are attending 2,625 shakhas in 25 district units and 151 blocks across Kashi prant.
“Both active as well as those who are connected with organisation directly or indirectly are well aware about the Shakha app and most of them are downloading it,” said Kishan Chandra, Vibhag Pracharak.
“Convinced by the app’s utility, we are encouraging volunteers in Kashi prant to download it and use it to further organizational activities. The volunteers are maximizing the use of Shakha app to connect with each other and take up online as well as offline activities,” he added.
He made it clear that the app is useful for all Sangh ‘swayamsevaks (workers).
