2019 served as a cause for much celebration for the Ambanis, as they welcomed Shloka Mehta to the family. The young 29-year-old has been making headlines ever since her pre-engagement party in Goa with Akash Ambani. What followed was a series of grand ceremonies that spanned the course from the industrialists’ iconic Mumbai residence, Antilia, to the fairytale-perfect locale of St Moritz in Switzerland. Decked in the traditional hues of red and gold, the canvas of her intricately embroidered Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga was granted additional lustre with uncut diamond jewellery. The emerald and polki choker served as the piece de resistance of the look, layered with an elaborate rani haar. The bridal staples of nath, matha patti, jhumkas and jooda served as the ornate finishing touches for the look.

Uncut diamonds played a starring role in her bridal repertoire, starting from the pre-engagement sangeet ceremony that saw her opting for a blush-toned Sabyasachi lehenga. Bespoke pieces in uncut diamonds, gold and Japanese baroque pearls from the couturier’s heritage jewellery collection completed the look. The dainty romanticism of pastels earned her vote for the mehandi ceremony as well, in the form of a hand-embroidered lehenga from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. The multi-hued embroidery was tempered with minimal diamond jewellery, including a delicate satlada necklace that brides-to-be will want to bookmark for daytime occasions. The festivities continued with a grand reception ceremony that witnessed Bollywood’s finest in attendance. The glowing bride dialled up the glamour with a champagne gold sari from Manish Malhotra. The finely detailed rose gold Swarovski crystals were mirrored with an exquisitely crafted diamond neckpiece and earrings framed by glossy waves.

On the wedding circuit, the newest member of the Ambani family continues to favour freshly minted pastels. Further proof can be found in her lilac pick from Anamika Khanna for Arjun Kothari’s pre-wedding bash in Antilia. The head-to-toe colour of the lavender ensemble was cinched together with a pop of colour in the form of her emerald neckpiece and coordinated earrings. The designer’s creations serve as a regular feature in her wardrobe—style watchers will have no trouble recalling the mustard yellow lehenga she stepped out in last year. Allowing the multi-hued embroidery to have its time in the spotlight, the young heiress chose to cinch the look with a single piece—a floral maang tikka that makes for a winning candidate for a haldi ceremony.  

When she’s off the clock, Ambani has been known to favour fuss-free pieces. Spotted front row at the opening show of Lakmé Fashion Week summer/resort 2020, the 29-year-old chose to dress up her summery green dress with a row of diamond earrings.
