AGRA: In a horrific murder which was captured on camera, a physically challenged man shot dead a 62-year-old woman in UP's
Kasganj district.
The incident occurred at around 10.30am on Thursday morning in Hodalpur village of Soron police jurisdiction, which is nearly 150km away from Agra city.
The deceased was identified as Shyamvati, neighbour of the accused Monu. After more then an hour the accused was nabbed from a nearby farm field. By the time this report was filed, police was interrogating Monu.
Speaking to TOI, Sushil Ghule, superintendent of police Kasganj said, "Initial investigation revealed that the accused wanted to illegally takeover the victim's home, who used to live alone after the death of her husband. At the moment we are not aware of any criminal history of the accused."
In the minute long video, the accused can be seen loading his country made pistol multiple times to shoot Shyamvati.
"It was a horrific murder and the video too is ghastly. Don't understand why anyone didn't attempt to save the woman instead of making videos," said officer Ghule.
"...Monu don't shoot...Leave her...Somebody save her..." people were found screaming in the video, but none came near Monu, who cannot walk due to polio infected legs.
SP Kasganj further said, "As soon as the lockdown ends, we will move court to appeal for fast trial. We have enough evidence against him."
Police was lodging an FIR against him under IPC section 302 (murder) and 25 arms act.
According to police sources, accused Monu is brother-in-law of a regional party leader.
