Share market update: Auto shares gain; Apollo Tyres up 6%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading with gains in Thursday's session.

Shares of Apollo Tyres (up 5.79 per cent), MRF (up 2.72 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (up 2.39 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (up 1.28 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.03 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 0.75 per cent), Exide Industries (up 0.46 per cent), Bharat Forge (up 0.42 per cent) and Eicher Motors (up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.15 per cent down at 5325.0 around 11:33 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 49.65 points at 8974.95 , while the BSE Sensex was up 148.07 points at 30527.88 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, Vedanta , Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Motherson Sumi, BEL, Ashok Leyland and IndusInd Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
