Coronavirus in India LIVE updates: With 34 new cases, COVID-19 tally in Karnataka mounts to 313

As the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis exacerbates in India, the central government on Wednesday earmarked 170 districts as hotspots in the 'Red Zone' with the aim to adopt stricter lockdown measures in these regions for checking the pandemic outbreak in its tracks. The Red Zone hotspots are essentially the regions that have reported a significant number of positive cases, contributing more than 80% of cases in India with a doubling rate of less than four days.
Meanwhile, 207 non-hotspot districts ith clusters and non-infected districts have also been classified as 'Green Zone'.
The cabinet secretary also held a video conference a day earlier with all the chief secretaries, DGPs, health secretaries, collectors, SPs, municipal commissioners and CMOs where the issue of the hotspots was discussed and orientation on field level implementation of containment strategy was given.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has also stated that there is no community transmission of India so far, adding that the chain of transmission of coronavirus can be broken successfully if no case is reported for 28 days from a particular area.

A total of 602 hospitals have been earmarked as dedicated coronavirus facilities and they have a capacity of 1,06,719 beds as well as 12,024 ICU beds that have been reserved for such patients in the country, according to the Health Ministry.

Two constables at the Chandni Mahal Police Station test positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection. Notably, around 52 people from the Chandni Mahal area have tested positive for the virus infection until now, and the cops had their duties in the region.
