THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ambiguity in the protocol of listing patients who travel to other states for treatment has led to the non-inclusion of a Covid-19 victim from Palakkad in the lists of both Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu government officials are claiming that since he had come from Palakkad to Coimbatore for treatment, he couldn't be included in their records.
However, state health department is not ready to account this death as "he got positive during treatment at a Coimbatore hospital and died there".
This logic did not apply when a 71-year-old Mahe native passed away in Kannur last week.
Heal th department didn't record the death in the state's list and the case was included in Puducherry's list as the man was a Mahe native and had come to Kannur only for treatment.
