Naveen Patnaik
BHUBANESWAR: The 23rd death anniversary of former chief minister Biju Patnaik will be observed in a low-key manner on account of the lockdown. On Wednesday, BJD president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik asked party workers not to go overboard while observing the death anniversary on Friday.
BJD general secretary (headquarters) Sanjay Das Burma said the party workers have been asked to offer floral tributes to the photo of Biju Babu in their respective homes. “The chief minister has also asked the workers to discuss with their family members the sacrifices and daredevil acts of Biju Babu and his dedication and contribution to the nation and Odisha,” Das Burma said.
The party workers have been asked not to step out of their homes to observe the death anniversary, he added. The BJD president also requested party workers to donate blood to meet the shortage in various blood banks. “Naveen Babu has requested each worker, leader and well-wisher of the party to ensure that not a single person should face problem due to the unavailability of blood,” said Das Burma
