GURUGRAM: After a gap of two days, Nuh (Mewat) recorded three more cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday, taking the total tally in the district to 48.
While one patient had attended the Tablighi Jamaat, the other had served food to some of its members in a local mosque. The third person is a truck driver working with a company manufacturing medical supplies in Roz Ka Meo.
Nuh CMO Virender Singh said the TJ-linked patient was found during a door-to-door screening. “The information on the truck driver came from the Alwar administration,” he said, adding that the manufacturing unit where he worked was sealed on Tuesday.
The number of people under active surveillance in Nuh has gone up to 1,927, out of which 254 have tested negative. Another 339 people have been found to be in touch with Covid-19 patients. In all, 1,037 samples have been sent for testing by the Nuh administration so far, out of which 794 have tested negative.
“We are taking samples of those who had been in touch with patients or are showing symptoms. Our aim is to test as much as possible so that we can identify patients at the earliest and treat them immediately,” said Singh.
Meanwhile, Palwal also recorded a Covid-19 case, from the TJ chain, on Wednesday after four days, taking the district’s tally to 30.
The patient, a 44-year-old man, came in contact with Jamaat members at Hathin mosque, where he served food to them during their stay from March 14 to 30. According to a report by the criminal investigation department, he had a history of contact with Jamaat members from Telangana as well. His wife and 20-year-old son are being tested, said a health department official.
A few days ago, the Palwal health department had formed 18 mobile teams that will visit 300 villages over the next 15 days to check Palwal residents for Covid-19 symptoms and collect travel and contact data.
