Crude oil futures up on spot demand

New Delhi: Crude oil futures on Thursday rose 0.78 per cent to Rs 1,541 per barrel as participants widened their positions on firm spot demand..

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for April delivery climbed by Rs 12, or 0.78 per cent, to Rs 1,541 per barrel with a business volume of 37,653 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude prices higher in futures trade here.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 0.15 per cent to $19.90 per barrel.

However, Brent Crude slipped 0.47 per cent to $27.56 per barrel in New York.
