Leading Malayalam actor Nedumudi Venu sings a 90-second video song on the need to fight coronavirus. The video uploaded on the Kerala Police's Facebook page, went viral in just three hours on Tuesday when it was uploaded and attracted over lakhs of views.

In the 90-second video which was shot on Monday and uploaded on Tuesday, Venu sings that all should stand together and fight the coronavirus by listening to the guidelines. The popular actor Nedumudi Venu who has acted in more than 500 Malayalam films, which fetched him two national and six Kerala film awards, sings as he plays the chenda (percussion instrument).

For the uninitiated, Venu has been a part of the Malayalam film industry for more than four decades now. He has also worked in Tamil movies and a few televisions show. 

He has been bestowed with National Film Awards for Best Supporting Actor in His Highness Abdullah in 1990. A special jury award for Margam in 2003. In 2006, he won National Film Award for Best Non-Feature Film Narration / Voice Over for the film Minukku.

Talking about his Kerala State Film Awards, Venu won Second Best Actor for Chamaram in 1980 and Thenmavin Kombath in 1994. While in 1981, 1987 and 2003, he won Best Actor for Vidaparayum Munpe, Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam and Margam respectively.
