LUDHIANA: Permission for Ludhiana factories involved in essential and non-essential product manufacturing has been automatically extended till May 3. There was a confusion over the decision ever since Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh had extended the lockdown in Punjab and there was no announcement in regards to renewal of permissions granted to the factories for carrying out their operations beyond April 14.
A confirmation to this effect was given by Punjab additional chief secretary Vini Mahajan, who cited the notification issued by the department of home affairs and justice. The notification stated, that “the relaxations already granted and intimated to district authorities by way of guidelines would be valid during the extension period. The curfew passes already issued would also be valid during the extended period.”
