South Goa police arrest 373 persons

The South Goa police stations since March 25 till April 13 have arrested 373 persons under 269 IPC for negligent act likely to spread infection of disease danger¬ous to life and also under 188 IPC for disobedience to order duly promulgated by state government.

The South Goa police during these period registered 184 cases and seized 169 vehicles including light and heavy vehicles. South Goa superintendent of police, Arvind Gawas said that out of these 373 persons arrested 137 were arrested by Salcete police stations.

Quepem sub division arrested 89 persons of which Quepem police arrested 23 persons, Curchorem 29, Sanguem 7 and 30 Canacona after registering 45 cases and have seized 40 vehicles. Vasco police sub-division arrested 108 persons of which Vasco police arrested 59, Verna 34 and Murmugao police arrested 15 persons by registering 31 cases and seized 62 vehicles.
Ponda police arrested 34 and Collem police 5 persons and have registered 16 cases and seized 6 vehicles.
