CHENNAI: Actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) president Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to taunt the Centre over the troubles faced by guest labourers during the prolonged lockdown.
"All the balcony people take a long and hard look at the ground. First it was Delhi, now Mumbai," Kamal tweeted late on Tuesday night, referring to the crowding of large number of guest workers, keen to return home, near a suburban railway station in Mumbai.
"The migrant crisis is a time bomb that must be defused before it becomes a crisis bigger than corona. Balcony government must keep their eyes on what's happening on the ground too," he tweeted.
Kamal had earlier cautioned Prime Minister
Narendra Modi that his government could be called as "balcony government" by people if it refused to realise and take corrective measures on the problems faced by the poor and needy due to the sudden lockdown and also for urging people to clap and light lamps from their balconies.
