Delhi University Teachers' Association opposes DU online exams

it comes out with its own set of guidelines regarding the academic schedule of universities in the wake of the anti-novelcoronavirus lockdown.
NEW DELHI: Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) has given a series of suggestions to the University Grants Commission, before it comes out with its own set of guidelines regarding the academic schedule of universities in the wake of the anti-novelcoronavirus lockdown.

DUTA has suggested that varsities could shift to the annual mode this year with adjustments in the course work. It reiterated its earlier stance against reliance on online education and said the "engagement with students through e-resources must not be treated as a substitute for face-to-face teaching and learning. It is only a stop-gap arrangement to keep students engaged. No educational institution has been able to provide replacement for practical/field-work through e-resources and at this juncture, testing students on these must be completely ruled out."

Ruling out the suggestions of online exam at the Deans' meeting on April 13, DUTA suggested that as soon as universities are allowed to reopen, examinations (including completion of internal assessments) should take place after completing the remaining teaching days, with priority accorded to final year students.
