*10:50am First Tablighi Jamat attendee death in UP recorded late on Tuesday. A 76-year-old man who was undergoing treatment in Moradabad, after being referred from Sambhal, died of Covid-19. State's coronavirus death toll mounts to 10.
* Aminabad wholesale medicine market will remain closed from Wednesday till further orders. However, to maintain the flow of medicine supply to retailers so that there is no crisis, distributors will shift operation to Transportnagar where most medicine godowns and warehouses are located.

* In view of spurt in cases of domestic violence during lockdown period, a women’s organisation has issued several helpline numbers where cases of violence can be reported. The facility is available round-the-clock. The data of UP alone showed 90 complaints from March 23 to April 1.
*8:49am UPSRTC will not operate buses till May 3. All kinds of bus operations during the period will remain suspended except the ones which will be requested by the district administration concerned for emergency operations to fight Covid-19.
* On the birth anniversary of Guru Arjun Dev, the fifth Sikh guru, president of Lucknow Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Rajendra Singh Bagga appealed people to maintain social distancing in view of lockdown till May 3 to check coronavirus spread.
* Essential items for newborn babies and pregnant women and stationery for children will be delivered at the doorstep of residents from Thursday. The district administration has identified shops which will deliver these items to people. Officials said efforts were on to finalise the service.
* Subdued celebrations marked the traditional new year of Bengali and Malayali communities, Poila Baisakh and Vishu, as people remained indoors on Tuesday in view of lockdown and prayed for the safety of those battling with Covid-19 pandemic.
