KURUKSHETRA: For the second tenure of the Covid-19
lockdown, the
Kurukshetra district administration has started an online application ‘e-market’ for the residents to facilitate home delivery of
essential commodities on Wednesday, told deputy commissioner (DC), Dhirendra Khadgata.
The e-market app available at ‘kurukshetra.gov.in/emarket’ will facilitate home delivery of essential services under four categories including medical, kiryana, vegetable/fruits, and bakery/dairy and the residents of Kurukshetra district in all four district blocks are covered.
He said it was noticed that during the first phase of lockdown the delivery of essentials was a challenge, from time to time residents came out of homes for shopping and the administration had to struggle to ensure social distancing.
“Thanesar City including containment zone of Sector 7, has been divided into eight zones and
Ladwa,
Pehowa and Shahabad blocks into one each zone. In each zone, the details of the shops in that area will be on the screen and along with shopkeeper's
WhatsApp number, on placing an order on the given number, the required items will be delivered at home”, told DC Dhirendra.
The officials told the e-market app has been prepared with the efforts of district information officer (DIO) from national informatics center (NIC) Vinod Singla.
“The administration has taken this initiative for home delivery to the people and has also provided a list of rates fixed by the government to the shopkeepers so that every person can get medicines, ration, fruits-vegetables, milk and other food items at affordable rates at home. The details of the shops and delivery time is also mentioned in the app”, told DC Dhirendra.
DIO Vinod Singla told, “The application has been developed to successfully implement the lockdown in its second phase, so that, the people stay at home and get the home delivery of essential needs. The people will also be able to provide feedback about every particular shop designated for providing essential services.”
