Relief kits distributed to 18,277 workers, drivers in Chennai

CHENNAI: The labour department has distributed kits containing 15kg of rice, one kg of dal and one kg of cooking oil to 18,277 registered members of the welfare boards of construction labourers and drivers in Chennai.
Commissioner of the labour department R Nanthagopal launched distribution of the relief kits to the labourers.
The Tamil Nadu government sanctioned Rs 371 crore to distribute relief kits and financial aid of Rs 1,000 each to more than 14.57 lakh registered members of the welfare boards.
