LUDHIANA: A suspected Covid-19 patient died at civil hospital on Tuesday morning.
On April 12, the 37-year-old man from Tibba Road, Gopal Nagar, was admitted to civil hospital with Covid-19-like symptoms. He was taken to the respiratory emergency at 2.50pm. The doctor on duty said, “He arrived with infection proponent. His saturation of oxygen was low. He was given oxygen inhalation, medications and antibiotics. His condition improved initially and he was put on oxygen therapy. High-quality CPR was given, but he could not be revived and was declared dead at 7am Tuesday.”
Senior medical officer Dr Ravi Dutt said, “His throat swab has been sent for Covid-19 test to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. The report is awaited.”
The number of positive cases in the district has gone up to 13.
