Curfew in Walled City till Apr 21

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Tuesday announced curfew in the Walled City and Danilimda areas in Ahmedabad till April 21 to prevent spread of coronavirus. Curfew will be imposed from 6 am on April 15 till 6 am on April 21. Only women will be allowed to buy milk, grocery, medicine and other essentials between 1 pm and 4 pm.

These areas have many (infection) hotspots. Nobody should come out of their houses in these two areas for the next few days. Police will ensure strict implementation of the curfew," he added. He added, "Major spread has been recorded in Danilimda so health department teams will carry out intensive surveillance to prevent spread in next 6-7 days."

DGP Shivanand Jha and Ahmedabad city Police Commissioner Ashish Bhatia held a joint press meet. Bhatia said, "Adequate police force and paramilitary forces have been arranged in all police stations where curfew has been imposed. Citizens who want to avail curfew passes can do so on digitalpoints.gov.in."
