Ludhiana: Akali Dal district president Ranjit Dhillon has alleged that Congress MLA from East constituency Sanjay Talwar had asked his workers to issue ration only to those with valid voter cards and who promised to vote for him in elections. On Tuesday, SAD leader Balwinder Singh went to EWS Colony where he claims to have recorded a video of Congress workers while cross checking voter cards.
Dhillon said Congress wasted 22 days in providing ration to the poor people because they were waiting for printing of picture of CM Captain Amarinder Singh on bags and now they are adopting such tactics.
Refuting the allegations, Talwar said, “These are baseless allegations. We are only preparing a record of poor people living in quarters.” He added there were three lakh migrant population in his constituency and at the moment neither their landlords nor any organization was helping them, so he was getting a list of such people ready. He said the Akali leaders were only trying to defame him so that they could gain mileage in elections.
