Warning as fire service shares theory on incident which sent North Wales hillside up in flames

A huge gorse blaze could have been caused by arsonists, the fire service has said. Drone footage has shown the scale of the fire on Anglesey which torched swathes of land on moorland in the Amlwch Port area last night. Eyewitnesses have reported seeing a group of youths running from the direction of the scene around the time of the incident.

Half of Welsh dentist surgeries face collapse if coronavirus restrictions continue

More than half of dental practices in Wales face collapse if coronavirus restrictions continue for three months, it has been warned. The British Dental Association [BDA] has issued a stark warning about the future of the industry as restrictions brought in to tackle the Covid-19 outbreak continue to take their toll on the economy. Without urgent support, sections of the industry face imminent collapse after all routine treatments were suspended due to the pandemic, the BDA warned.

Man building giant pig barn after demolishing £690,000 house hits back at critics

A businessman who demolished a £690,000 house and is now building a large barn for rescued pigs on the site has hit back at local opponents to his scheme. Peter Davidson demolished Field Cottage after finding it filled with wasps nests. While he’d originally planned to build two houses on the site, which overlooks Prestatyn, he’s now decided to build one six-bedroom home.

Welsh unions highlight shocking examples where NHS staff are 'scared and anxious about their safety'

NHS workers across Wales are “deeply scared and anxious about their safety” - and some are even “too terrified to go to work”. That’s according to two trade unions who have now called for more clarity on the stock and supply on the stock and supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) available to its members. In a join statement, the Wales TUC (Trades Union Congress) and BMA (British Medical Association) Cymru say they want assurances that all health and social care staff will get the PPE they need to tackle the coronavirus threat on the frontline.
