ROHTAK: Amid lockdown, hundreds of people swarmed Khidwali village of the district to attend the last rites of Baroda MLA
Sri Krishan Hooda.
Hooda had breathed his last at Delhi hospital on Sunday evening after remaining ill for nearly two months.
Congress leaders including B B
Batra and Anand Singh Dangi were among those who attended the cremation ceremony, held in an agriculture field of Khidwali village.
A 7.45-minute video of last rites was also shared on
Facebook by an account ‘Team Deepender Hooda Official’, in which hundreds of people could be seen. Some Haryana police personnel could be heard requesting people to maintain physical distance, but to no avail.
Some of the people in attendance were also seen covering their face with masks or clothes, but most of them did not take any precaution.
A villager said the gathering would have been bigger if former chief minister
Bhupinder Singh or his son Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Singh Hooda would have come.
