A huge fire has swept through a bungalow on a residential estate in Abergele.

The blaze at Gorwel broke out just before 4pm and smoke could be seen billowing from the roof of the property.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service sent crews from Abergele and Colwyn Bay to tackle the fire.

North Wales Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service and The North Wales Emergency Doctor Service also attended.

It is believed that an elderly woman was inside the property at the time the fire started and was later transported to hospital.
