A squirrel was left dizzy after being thrown from a bird feeder in hilarious footage.

The animal climbs the pole before jumping on to the base for the bird food holder.

Before the squirrel nicknamed Nutzo is able to take the food the feeder begins to spin uncontrollably with the squirrel still holding its grip.

Charlie Oliver, from Massachusetts, shared the video on Facebook on March 30 which was filmed by his kitchen window.

He said: 'Preparing for the 2021 Summer Olympics, Nutzo the squirrel has just smashed the World Record.

'And in a move which will immortalize him, he invented a new style of changing grip in mid flight, to be called "The Nutzorama".'

At first the squirrel holds on with all four of its feet before losing grip on his front two and holding on with only two.

At the end of the clip the squirrel loses his grip completely and plummets to the grass without the food he went for.

The video has been viewed by more than eight million people.

Mr Oliver said: 'There is a pair that "makes the rounds" at breakfast time. A few seeds fall out, which they gobble up.

'But I think they have also figured out that this is really, really fun!'

A woman from Florida shared footage of a squirrel sliding down a pole while trying to reach the bird feeder.

She had oiled the pole to stop squirrels stealing the food intended for the birds.

A squirrel in Buckinghamshire did the same last year. It desperately tried to get to the top but he kept sliding back down.
