Yoga guru Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurved has donated Rs 25 crore towards the Prime Minister's PM CARES Fund for the ongoing fight against coronavirus in India.


India is grappling with the coronavirus virus and for this Prime Minister Narendra Modi set up a charitable trust in which citizens, corporates, organizations and just about anyone else can contribute money to relief efforts.

Since then, many helping hands came forward. These include Akshay Kumar, Tata Groups, Mukesh Ambani, many big industrialists, players, celebrities and common people.

The fund is called Relief in Prime Minister's Civil Assistance and Emergency Situation Fund and is called the PM Care Fund. The PM is the chairman of this trust, with the Defense Minister, Finance Minister and Home Minister being the other members.

Talking to reporters, Baba Ramdev spoke about his donation and appealed to the people to take necessary precautions to help prevent the spread of coronavirus and protect themselves. He said that there is no need to panic.

All of his Patanjali and Ruchi Soya employees collectively donated Rs 1.5 crore to the PM Cares Fund for their one day salary.

The yoga guru said that he would give premises for the treatment of coronavirus patients at his two institutions in Haridwar and Kolkata, Modinagar (Uttar Pradesh) and Solan (Himachal Pradesh). Where food will also be delivered by the organization of Ramdev itself.
