The Supreme Court today said that the Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tanon's decision for a floor test for the then chief minister Kamal Nath to prove majority was right. The apex court said that the governor has the power to call for a floor test. On March 19, the SC had asked the MP assembly speaker to reconvene a special session the next day with a sole agenda of conducting the floor test. After the order, Kamal Nath had resigned as the chief minister of the state the very next day.
