MYSURU: Covid-19 crisis expected to result in a drastic job cuts especially in the small and medium sized companies in the coming months. Pink slips expected to hit even the skilled man power working in various verticals of companies involved in various services and manufacturing sector. A techie working in Germany, who originally hails from Kuvempunagar in the city, has come out with a unique strategy with a few like-minded volunteers to help the small companies to lease their manpower to the bigger companies for a stipulated period instead of sacking them on a free platform.
Deepak Nanjappa, 46, from Mysuru has proposed this idea through which he wants to help small companies and its employees. "My idea is creating an online platform from where the big companies can absorb the employees of the small companies for a certain period. It will be a free platform where small companies can register the list of the employees they want to lease with their skills and for how long they want to lease them," he explained.
"It is not limited to any particular job. From delivery boys to software engineers, all can be leased out on this platform," he said.
"I got this idea after following the crisis in India post Covid-19 outbreak. Generally, small companies in India struggle to keep afloat during these trying times. We a group of volunteers decided to create this online platform. Basically it will serve as a facilitator. The bigger companies (companies that need man power currently for example pharmaceutical or FMCG sectors ) can absorb manpower from very small companies which are struggling to stay afloat for a certain period. The intention is to create portal where small companies can showcase the skill sets of existing man power. The bigger companies can review the profile of these employees. This would prevent job losses. This will allow the small companies to stay afloat and at a later point of time, they can get back into their normal business with the old set of employees. This is a purely voluntary service. I am looking for more volunteers to take this idea forward," he explained.
