The malaria drug hydroxychloroquine is being prescribed to treat coronavirus after it was given an exemption for emergency use by the FDA. Dr. Tim Schacker and his team at the University of Minnesota are leading the first of nine nationwide clinical trials for the drug and are halfway through their study. The drug has sparked a lot of hope, but experts warn there are some possible risks in using it.
