GUWAHATI:
Nagaland has reported its first Covid-19 active case. The patient has been shifted from a private hospital in
Dimapur in the state to
Guwahati Medival College and Hospital after his health condition became critical.
Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom tweeted, "Unfortunately one person from Dimapur has tested positive of Covid-19 & is under treatment at GMCH at Guwahati. Anyone who came into contact with the person will be immediately quarantined,also certain locations will be sealed for general safety."
Meanwhile, the state government said that the entire Marwari Patti and Ghorapatty, where the patient belongs to has been sealed.
The private hospital at Dimapur where the patient was initially admitted has been sealed. "Doctors, nurses, all other staff & their family members who came into direct and indirect contact with the patient to be quarantined," the government said in a statement.
The patient has a travel history from Kolkata by an Air India flight no 709 to Dimapur on March 24. The state government has appealed to all those people travelling by this flight on that day to report to the health authorities immediately.
