Vadodara: The COVID-19 cases in the city are spiralling with every passing day. But when it comes to latest cases, health officials are struggling to find an epidemiological link. The source of infection in the biggest cluster of cases at Nagarwada and a single case from Bahar Colony remains a mystery.
The steady trickle of cases from Nagarwada has been on a rise. While a social worker was the first to take ill and test positive, officials believe that he may not necessarily be the one who was infected first. Even if one believes that he was the first person to be infected, there is no clue regarding the person who could have passed on the virus to him.
“The residents of the area are either wary of disclosing details or are missing some important fact. There are chances that someone from the locality may have visited some affected areas or some infected person may have come to the area,” said a VMC official.
The case of the elderly man from Bahar Colony is even more curious. A relative of the man and the relative’s daughter were admitted with symptoms of a severe respiratory infection at a private hospital. While the father-daughter duo did not have COVID-19, the man form Bahar Colony tested positive.
