Best Instagrams this week: Priyanka Chopra and Mira Rajput Kapoor

One theme that took over Instagram this week was throwbacks. Take a look at all the moments on Instagram you may have missed from the week that was

It's been almost a fortnight of being home for those residing in India, and it's safe to say that one of the things that has kept us all going is the internet—be it streaming portals with their abundant movie choices, video conference apps that allow us to connect with our favourite people, or social media, which gives us daily life updates. If you find yourself scrolling through Instagram every time you open your phone, you're not the only one. By the looks of it, Bollywood and Hollywood's biggest stars can't seem to stay away from their feeds either.

This week started off with lots of throwback moments as both, Deepika Padukone and Mira Rajput Kapoor shared childhood snapshots on their official pages. In Padukone's photo, the star can be seen as a toddler dressing in all white, and what's got all her fans talking is her cropped haircut. As for Rajput Kapoor, the mom-of-two treated her followers to a never-seen-before snapshot of herself enjoying a day out at the pool as a child. Dressed in a  yellow and blue swimsuit and riding an inflatable sea horse, Rajput Kapoor looks almost identical to what her daughter, Misha Kapoor, looks like today.

Over the week, Kareena Kapoor Khan also dug into her archives and shared a picture from an old getaway with her fans. Looking at her safari-inspired look in the sun kissed snapshot, it's safe to assume the star is missing the outdoors right now, or perhaps, has been watching Netflix's newest series, Tiger King. Another must-see flashback photo came via Rhea Kapoor, who posted a sweet childhood memory of herself and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja with the caption, “Partner in everything. Highly eccentric and uncontrollable? Yes. But delightful, loving, protective, generous and loyal and best friend for life. #bigsister #muse.”

During India's lockdown period, stars from across the country's different film industries have been taking every opportunity possible to encourage their fans to stay home and help stem the spread of COVID-19. One of the most interesting ways that's been done recently was with a short film made by the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Diljit Dosanjh, Rajnikanth, Mohanlal, Mammootty and Priyanka Chopra. What was unique about the black and white film was that every scene was shot at one celebrity's home with the help of their families, and was then stitched together to tell an important story to the world.

Another must-watch video was that of the song ‘Muskurayega India’, which brought together Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Vicky Kaushal, Kriti Sanon, and Bhumi Pednekar and others in an attempt to give hope and inspiration to Indians during this time.

Across the globe, one of the most heart-warming Instagram posts came via Meadow Walker's Instagram page. The 21-year-old posted a video of her late father, Paul Walker, which she captioned, "I never thought I’d share this. But it felt right. Be good. I love you. Stay safe. xx". Watch to see her surprise Walker on his birthday years ago before giving him a big hug.
