EFLU to conduct end-semester exams online due to nationwide lockdown

HYDERABAD: The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad decided to conduct the end-semester examinations scheduled for May 2020 online using the open-book or take-home examinations or term papers or assignment/ projects.
The decision was taken during the 12th academic council meeting held on Thursday. “The council, consisting of forty members with the vice-chancellor, in the chair felt that the sit-down mode of examination should be dropped for the May 2020 end-semester examinations, as a measure to ensure ‘social distancing’ as desired by the government of India and the government of Telangana state,” read a press release issued by EFLU.
The council also ratified continuation of online classes till April 29, the last teaching day as prescribed in the university’s original academic calendar. It also upheld and ratified conducting the PhD viva voce examination through online mode on March 19 during the lock-down period.
Further, the council approved the conduct of PhD viva voce examinations online until further orders are received for exiting the lock-down period by the government of India and the government of Telangana. The council ratified conduct of the comprehensive continuous assessment by all the members of faculty for their respective courses through the online mode.
