MUMBAI: For the second consecutive day the congested locality of
Dharavi in Mumbai reported a Covid-19 related death.
A 70-year-old woman from Kalyan Wadi in the area who was admitted at
KEM hospital in Parel died after testing positive for COvid-19.
This is the third Covid-19 related death from the densely populated locality which is being reported in the last one week. The first case in the area was that of a 56-year-old garment unit owner who had hosted Tablighi Jamaat members in another flat owned by him in his housing complex at Dr Baliga Nagar. He had tested positive and died on April 1.
The total number of positive patients now stands at 12. High risk contacts of all these patients have been shifted into Rajiv Gandhi District Sports Complex in Dharavi, which has been acquired by civic authorities for a quarantine facility.
