1. The Good Wife (and its spin off, The Good Fight) (2009)

This is an oldie, but a goldie. Follow the career of Alicia Florrick, as she goes back to work when her politician husband ends up in jail following a sex scandal.

In this critically acclaimed show, highly recommended by fans of Breaking Bad, a small-time attorney Jimmy McGill aka Saul Goodman goes from defending criminals to getting sucked into their world.

No connection to The Good Wife, this medical drama, based on a Korean Series, centres around a young doctor who has Savant Syndrome. It’s only two seasons, but you’ll end up invested enough to wait for season three.

4. Doc Martin (2004)

A surgeon develops haemophobia, forcing him to move to a Cornish Village as a general practitioner. The smart writing and British wit of the show will have you hooked.

5. The IT Crowd (2006)

The cult British comedy follows the antics of the socially awkward tech department of a communications company and their head of department, who knows nothing about computers.

6. Mr. Robot (2015)

Rami Malek stars as a young anti-social cybersecurity engineer, who connects with people by hacking into their lives. The show also stars ’90s heartthrob Christian Slater as Mr Robot. Dark and awesome, this is one show that you don’t want to miss.

7. Succession (2018)

As the patriarch steps down from his media company, his children start vying for control. Each is a shade of greyer than the next, and there’s a voyeuristic glee to finding out what’s going to happen next.
