Odisha schools, colleges to remain shut till June 17: CM Naveen Patnaik

The Odisha state government has announced that all educational institutions in the state will remain closed till June 17 in view of coronavirus outbreak. The chief minister Naveen Patnaik has also extended the on-going lockdown scheduled till April 14 to April 30 in Odisha.
The state government has earlier announced that students of Classes I to VIII, IX, and XI will be promoted to the next class without appearing for their annual examination amid the looming uncertainty over the novel coronavirus.
So far, Odisha has reported 42 positive COVID-19 cases. Two people have been cured/discharged or migrated while one death has been reported.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases rose to 5,734 on Thursday, including 5,095 active cases, while 472 people have either been cured or discharged. So far, 166 deaths have taken place, as per the Health Ministry.
