Industrial output rose 4.5 per cent in February from a year earlier, government data showed on Thursday.
Analysts polled by news agency Reuters had forecast a rise of 3.2 per cent.
Cumulative growth in April-February over the corresponding period of the previous year was 0.9 per cent, the data showed.
