While speaking to ANI on April 09, the Minority Affairs Minister of Maharashtra, Nawab Malik spoke on coronavirus and party meeting. He said, “A decision was taken in today’s cabinet meeting to recommend Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s name for the two vacant Members of the State Legislative Council (MLC) posts that are recommended by Governor.” “As MLC elections can't be held due to COVID-19, it is being done to avoid a constitutional crisis,” Nawab Malik added.
