Kroger stores opened early for senior and at-risk shoppers.
The shoppers were surprised with the free groceries at 44 locations across Atlanta, Kroger told Business Insider.
The receipts were signed "Atlanta Angel," according to local reporter Kaitlyn Ross.
“We would like to join our customers in thanking Mr. Perry for his kindness and generosity during this unprecedented pandemic,” said Felix Turner, manager of corporate affairs for Kroger’s Atlanta Division.
The actor also paid for groceries at Winn-Dixie grocery stores in his hometown of New Orleans.
