Share market update: Pharma shares advance; Cipla zooms 13%

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 6.1 per cent up at 8925.55 .

NEW DELHI: Pharma shares were trading with gains in Thursday's session with their sectoral index trading higher.

Shares of Cipla (up 13.4 per cent), Lupin (up 10.27 per cent), Divis Laboratories (up 9.76 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 6.49 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (up 5.65 per cent), Alkem Laboratories (up 3.71 per cent), Biocon (up 2.26 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (up 1.86 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories (up 1.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 6.1 per cent up at 8925.55 around 12:12 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 281.50 points at 9030.25 , while the BSE Sensex was up 955.52 points at 30849.48 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 46 were trading in the green, while 4 were in the red.

Shares of Tata Motors, Vodafone Idea, SBI, Vedanta , ITC, Ashok Leyland, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
