Hospitals in
Mumbai continue to be a big worry for officials as they report cases of new
coronavirus among their staffers.
A Mumbai Mirror report said that the
Breach Candy hospital shut its doors for new admissions after a nurse and a technician tested positive. Bhatia hospital was also asked by the
BMC to stop admission of new patients on Wednesday after three patients tested positive for new coronavirus.
Reports said that a 65-year-old who was transferred from
Wockhardt hopspital after it was dcalred a containment zone tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The Bhatia hospital said that all Covid-19 protocols were followed while admitting the patients. “On the suspicion during initial analysis, one of the patients among the three was immediately admitted to the isolated ICU. Later, the other two patients were shifted to the isolation facility as well," a hospital spokesperson said.
The BMC has taken swabs of 70 staffers from the hospital.
Mumbai civic officials have collected samples of 90 staffers from the
Breach Candy hopsital. No decision has been taken on declaring it a containment zone.
“We will take a call on putting the hospital in a containment zone if more samples test positive," a Mumbai Mirror report quoted a civic official as saying.
Earlier, the Wockhardt hospital and
Jaslok hospital were declared containment zones.
