The largest supermoon of the year 2020 was seen in the intervening night of April 7-8, when most parts of the world were in a lockdown situation due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The moon was closest to the earth in the early hours of April 8, making it appear far bigger and brighter. Super pink moon appears about 30 percent brighter and 14 percent bigger than when the moo is farthest from the earth. The moon is considered to be a supermoon if it is within 10 percent of its closest distance to the earth.
