MILAN -- Ferrari will pilot a project to conduct screening of employees and their families to better fight the coronavirus outbreak.
Voluntary screening will be followed by the use of an app which, which will help monitor and contain the emergence of any new infections among employees, Ferrari Chairman John Elkann said.
The project is being carried out with the patronage of the Emilia Romagna region in Italy, where Ferrari is based, and with the collaboration of a pool of scientists and experts, Elkann said in a letter to shareholders of Exor, the holding company for Ferrari and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, which Elkann heads.
Ferrari has closed its two Italian plants in Maranello and Modena until April 14.
