Ravneet Singh Bittu claims state lockdown may continue till June

Lockdown in Punjab
LUDHIANA: Member of parliament from city, Ravneet Singh Bittu, has claimed the curfew in Punjab will continue until June. Bittu has also urged NGOs and other organisations distributing ration and langar to make their preparations to do so until June.
According to Bittu, “Curfew in Punjab will not end before June, so everyone should start preparing now. Along with the general public, people doing social welfare works, like distribution of ration and langar, should also work keeping in mind this deadline. They are doing a highly commendable job, and the administration and government are doing their best to support them. As far as I know, keeping in view the safety of the state’s residents, even if prime minister Narendra Modi ends the lockdown all over India, chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh will not lift the curfew in Punjab for 15 more days after that.”
Bittu also added, “The Punjab government is fully geared to ensure everything runs smoothly until June in the state, and that is why all the stocks of essentials in the state are available with us in adequate quantity. We were facing a bit of a shortage of pulses, but that problem too has been solved, as we have ordered a huge quantity of the required pulses from Rajasthan. On behalf of the government and CM Captain Amarinder Singh, I appeal to residents of the state to please cooperate with the authorities and stay indoors, so that we can battle this pandemic of Covid-19.”
Meanwhile, in another revelation about why he was not being seen in the city ever since the lockdown, Bittu said, “For the past more than 14 days, I was under self-quarantine at my Delhi residence. I had to take this step after a security guard of Rajasthan MP Rana Dushyant Singh travelled with me in my cavalcade. As the MP had attended the party of Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor, who tested positive for Covid-19, I went into self-isolation to rule out contracting this virus. I had already informed about my decision to Captain Sandeep Sandhu, and cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, and had instructed them to leave no stone unturned to ensure all kinds of relief work in Ludhiana.”
